Saturday 13th July Operaluna presents
Opera Novella's TOSCA by Pucini 6.30pm at Marlborough College Memorial Hall
Following the success of Rigoletto in 2012, Opera Novella returns to Marlborough with Operaluna to present Pucini's 'Tosca'. This staged production features Opera Novella's exceptional chamber orchestra and an international cast of seven. Tosca, one of the world's most popular operas, is the violent story of the diva, Floria Tosca, her lover, Cavaradossi, and the brutal Chief of Police, Scarpia. The production is set in Victorian opulence, making the most of Pucini's luscious melodies and Bernie Lafontaine's inspired orchestral reduction. Adam Miller returns to direct.
One-hour interval, and grounds open for a picnic from 5.30pm.
Tickets £10

Wednesday 17th July 2013 Dreadnought South West Association presents
Oxygen - a new play by Natalie McGrath
Imagine that 15 women gather. What they want is to end child poverty. What they want is to stop white slave traffic. What they want is to end sweated labour.
But they know they can’t do this unless they have the right to vote. They have a conversation that maps eight geographic arteries across England (like points on a compass) and Wales. These arteries reach out towards a single destination. The destination is Hyde Park. It’s June 1913, and the Great Suffrage Pilgrimage begins.
Showing great courage in the face of opposition, women start walking from Cornwall carrying a banner that says 'Lands End to London'. Many join them, singing the same songs.
And 15 women become tens of thousands of people - sharing the same oxygen.
Suggested age range 10+.
Tickets £12
Concessions £8 (pensioners, under-16s, students, unemployed - proof may be requested)
