June 23 Dracott Foliat White Horse Opera stages 'The Beggar's Opera' at Sheppard's Farm
If you saw White Horse Opera's production of Pirates of Penzance last year, as we did, you'll know that they do 'funny' very well! The Beggar's Opera dates from 1728, and it portrays a London underworld rich with seedy characters and lovable rogues. You'll chuckle at the web of lies, groan at the gullibility of the innocent heroine, and cheer at the come-uppance of the real villain of the piece. Bring a picnic, and hum the catchy tunes as you head home!
Gardens open from 6.30pm. Performance 7pm. £10
